Expel-F – Fritz Aquatics

Description

Fritz Expel-F stands as a reliable and safe anti-fungal remedy, effectively targeting infections like Ichthyophonus spp. and Saprolegnia, alongside certain other general fungal infections. These infections typically present as white, patchy, cotton-like growths on the body, mouth, or fins, often arising as secondary complications from prior wounds or injuries. Left untreated, fungal infections proliferate and can lead to fatal outcomes. It’s important to note that Fritz Expel-F may have adverse effects on Bryopsis algae growth.

For prevention or treatment of fungus on fish eggs, Maracyn Oxy is recommended.

Instructions & Usage:

In a small container or glass, dissolve one packet of Expel-F per 10 gallons (38 L). Mix thoroughly and add to a high-flow area in the sump. The powder will naturally dissolve within the system over time. A single dose of medication is sufficient for treatment, lasting for a period of 14 days.

If deemed necessary, a second course of treatment may be administered. Upon cessation of symptoms, reintroduce chemical filtration and resume regular use of protein skimmers and feeding routines. Restore the temperature to its normal setting.

For optimal outcomes, employ Expel-F in a quarantine tank. During treatment, remove activated carbon and ion-exchange resins. Suspend the operation of the skimmer for the initial three days of treatment. Refrain from conducting water changes if possible.

Expel-F can be utilized at full strength with scaleless fish. If fish exhibit feeding behavior, offer food sparingly during treatment. There are no contraindications; Expel-F can be safely combined with other products and medications.

Safe for invertebrates, including corals, snails, shrimp, clams, and other crustaceans and mollusks. In the event of overdose, eliminate the medication using MaxOut Pro or similar carbon-based media.

Please note: Expel-F may affect desirable macroalgae and may temporarily cause corals to retract. Exercise caution when using in systems containing these species. It does not impact hair or turf algae, but significantly affects Bryopsis algae.
