Brightwell Aquatics Garlic Power delivers the nutritional essence of raw garlic to fish primarily through its application to their food. The formula comprises solely preserved extract of raw garlic, supplemented with a minimal amount of vitamin C as a preservative.

Brightwell Aquatics Garlic Power comprises solely preserved extract of raw garlic. Historically, garlic has been esteemed for its medicinal attributes, with ongoing clinical research lending credence to some of these beliefs. Initially, it was believed that the active component in garlic was Allicin, formed when garlic is damaged (e.g., cut, processed, bitten), through the interaction of the amino acid Alliin with the enzyme Alliinase. However, research indicates that Allicin is unstable and quickly degrades into compounds known as Diallyl Sulphides, which also exhibit beneficial properties.

In aquariums, garlic is often associated with improving fish health, particularly in systems battling parasites, though this product is not intended for use as medication. Additionally, garlic has been shown to stimulate newly-added and finicky fish to feed. While garlic may enhance food palatability, it should not substitute for researching a fish’s dietary requirements before purchasing and introducing them into an aquarium.

Instructions and Guidelines

To fortify prepared food:

Shake well before use. Saturation of food with Garlic Power is recommended. Allow at least five minutes for absorption before feeding. Liquid food suspensions may be fortified by adding 1ml of Garlic Power per 10ml of food suspension.

If adding directly to the aquarium:

Shake well before use. Add 5ml per 50 US gallons of aquarium water every other day, or half that dosage daily. Monitor water quality and adjust as necessary.

Boosting the nutritional profile of any food:

Consider adding vitamins, minerals, amino acids, or other nutritious ingredients along with garlic.
